It is estimated that somewhere between 10 and 30% of all college-age students identify as being neurodivergent. Students who identify as neurodivergent have conditions such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression and dyslexia as well as other learning disabilities and psychiatric diagnosis.

In an effort to raise awareness and assist students who are neurodivergent, the Center for Disability Access, in coordination with the Dialogue on Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, various events will be held throughout the week.

Starting on Monday, the Adams Library will have a reading guide including books about neurodivergence as well as books written by neurodivergent authors. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to get a copy of the list from the main desk.

Also occurring throughout the week, there will be an art showcase in Gaige 320. There will also be a gallery of artwork on display throughout the hallway near Gaige 320.

On March 18., the Center for Disability Access will be hosting a workshop on procrastination in Gaige 320 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Immediately following that, there will be a neurodivergent BIPOC/queer mixer where BIPOC and queer neurodivergent people will have an opportunity to meet and connect with others who identify similarly.

On March 19., there will be trivia in the Bistro from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Students can play individually or in teams. If students are interested in joining the Center for Disability and Access team, they can play for a chance to win one of four $25 gift cards.

On March 20., there will be a time management workshop hosted by the Center for Disability Access to be held in Gauge 320 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

All are encouraged to attend. Please scan the QR code. On the flyer For more information. For accommodation requests, please e-mail the Center for Disability Access at cda@ric.edu.
