Rhode Island College’s very own English Club will be hosting a week-long book sale in the Donovan Dining Center.
“On a day meant for falling in love, why not fall in love with a mystery book?” Each carefully selected book is wrapped up and paired with an intriguing blurb. Browse through the stacks in search of a new favorite read. Each book is priced between one and five dollars.
Romantics and mystery lovers unite. If you enjoy a good thrill or perhaps prefer getting comfortable with a poetry book, the English club has got you covered.
There’s even something for you diehard romantics, mystery solvers and thriller seekers. Ranging all genres from history to fantasy, classics and modern contemporary selections, you’re sure to find something worthwhile at this week-long event.
I personally obtained an interesting title under the blurb, “Resurrection... ah, there's a word (that you should put right the [expletive] out of your mind and you know it).”
Intrigued by the topic of bringing the deceased back to life, my morbid mind was happy to pick that book. Low and behold, it was “Pet Sematary” by Stephen King. I look forward to spending my Valentine’s Day snuggling up with a fuzzy companion and reading this good old fashioned horror fiction piece.
For this event, the English Club will be occupying a table in Donovan every day next week from Monday, Feb. 13 to Friday, Feb. 17 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Don’t miss out on your chance to snag a good read, pick up a new favorite while supplies last.
If you are someone who loves creative writing, talking about books or making some awesome new friends, consider becoming a part of the community. Those who are interested in joining RIC’s English Club can visit one of their weekly meetings. They meet every Tuesday in Craig Lee 120 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
